A Decadent Cherry Smoothie Bowl to cure the Monday Blues!
Lets face it, sometimes Mondays just aren’t the best day. I always think it’s important to have a little something to reward yourself with on those tougher days of the week to get through. Whether you’ve had a long day at work, school or at home, this smoothie bowl will make you feel like your indulging into something sinful (when it’s really 100% clean and healthy!).
I’ve been loving smoothie bowls this summer to beat the summer heat. They make a great breakfast or dessert, as well as a great pre or post workout snack! You could even add a scoop of vanilla protein powder into this one if your making it after your workout to help replenish your muscles!
I like to have this smoothie bowl as an evening snack to help me relax. Did you know that cherries can help with your insomnia? Cherries are a natural source of melatonin and an amino acid called tryptophan, which help regulate your sleep. The red pigments in the cherry contain an enzyme that reduces inflammation and decreases how fast the tryptophan is broken down in the body, allowing it to work longer in your body before it’s digested.
I could go on and on about the benefits in this smoothie bowl, but I think it’s time to share the recipe! Enjoy!
