Choosing Chia

About Me

Hi there, I’m Jess!

I’m Jess, the blogger, photographer and recipe developer behind Choosing Chia. I’m a passionate self-taught cook with a love for healthy food that is easy to make and actually tastes good.

Here you’ll find healthy vegetarian recipes that are easy to follow, taste delicious and focus on wholesome ingredients (plus plenty of chocolate!)

My mission is to provide simple easy to make recipes that are healthy and actually taste good.

I’ve always loved cooking since a young age and grew up in a family where cooking and baking was always going on!

I started Choosing Chia after a spontaneous trip to India where I studied yoga and Ayurveda. (A wellness practice that focuses on creating a healthy body through diet, exercise and mindfulness) I graduated from the Ajarya yoga academy with my yoga instructor certification, and a new passion for healthy, plant-based cooking and eating.

Choosing Chia reflects my beliefs on eating and living a healthy Lifestyle-Delicious, easy to make vegetarian recipes that focus on fresh ingredients.

I serve people who are looking to eat healthier, incorporate more natural and plant-based foods in their diet, but who also want to take the stress out of healthy eating.

What you’ll find on Choosing Chia

Choosing Chia is a blog dedicated to really delicious vegetarian recipes. Here you will find plenty of whole food recipes with a big focus on wholesome plant-based ingredients. That being said, life is all about balance. So you’ll also find some healthified and not so healthified desserts and treats on the blog too!

Healthy, simple and vibrant recipes

Life can be busy, (don’t we all know it!) so I wanted to make sure that Choosing Chia focuses on primarily simple, easy to put together, healthy recipes that you can add to your weekly menu.

A little bit more about me

Most days you can find me… In the kitchen or working on my couch…in my pyjamas.

I love serving the world by… Sharing recipes! Wellness tips! Photography tips! Blogging tips! Pictures of my dog!

My favourite quote is… “You can have your excuses or you can have your success. You can’t have both.”

When I’m not busy blogging, you can catch me… Working on my yoga practice, Spending time up north in the mountains, going out for brunch, petting my dog, and eating all the croissants.
