My name is Jess, it’s great to meet you!
I’m a self-taught cook, peanut butter lover and yogi living in Montreal, Canada with my shiba inu pup (and #1 taste tester!)
I started this blog as a platform to share my healthy recipes and my love for cooking & wellness. Here you will find healthy vegetarian recipes with a focus on wholesome plant-based ingredients. You will also find plenty of options to suit vegan, gluten-free, and other diets too!
My food philosophy:
Choosing Chia focuses on a plant-forward approach to eating.
Eat more plants, shop locally when you can (hello farmer’s market!) and focus on fresh & seasonal ingredients. By following these guidelines you’ll easily nourish your body with the nutrients you need to feel at your best!
Be inspired by what is around you, take trips to your local market, and shop for a variety of different coloured foods. (not only are they pretty, but every colour is filled with different vitamins and nutrients, win!)
Also, remember not to be too hard on yourself and indulge in the things you love from time to time. (because seriously guys, what’s life without chocolate?)
Every person is different, and wellness is a journey. Listen to your body, be kind to yourself and find the right balance that works for you. Healthy living should not feel like a chore, it should be fun…and delicious!
A little bit about me:
When I’m not in the kitchen you can find me hiking up north outside of the city, on my yoga mat, or on a quest to find the best pancakes in the city.
