During my recent visit to Costa Rica in September 2016 I had the pleasure of staying at the Andaz Papagayo Resort on the north coast.

For those of you who may be planning a trip to Costa Rica during the rainy season, you may want to look at staying in the northern areas where there is less rain. (If you go south, you may be hit with more rainstorms.)

The Andaz papagayo was such a wonderful experience! As a health food blogger, I am always on the lookout for places that cater to a healthier lifestyle. I was delighted to find that the Andaz was equipped with a gym, classes, and plenty of healthy food options. (Including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.) At each meal the waiters would ask if you have any food restrictions, and were able to cater to your needs. One of my favorite offerings was their array of fresh squeezed juices. I’d recommend the passionfruit juice, or the pineapple & mint juice.

The grounds of the resort were beautiful, surrounded by lush forests, and colourful flowers. You may even see some monkeys swinging in the tree tops while you enjoy breakfast! The rooms were modern, but still maintained a cozy feel with lots of warm lighting and wood. It made for the perfect low-key relaxing vibes, that really allow you to feel like your on a vacation. (something we all need to feel after long sprints of work!) The Andaz was the perfect way to end off my last couple days in Costa Rica before returning home and back to the work grind!
