No matter what time of year it is I always like to add some supplements and vitamins to my diet.

Choosing glyphosate free supplements

This is usually a combination of some “superfood” powders that I like adding to my smoothies and chia puddings, and some vitamin tablets to keep myself and my immune system healthy.

Especially right now in the winter, I always make sure to be taking a vitamin D supplement, (fun fact: you cannot absorb any vitamin D from the sun in Montreal in the winter time) and some adaptogenic herbal supplements to help my body cope with the stresses of winter.

I recently did an optimized wellness test when I was on my trip in the Maldives, where I gave a hair sample to be tested in a lab to find out what type of deficiencies I may have. I was so excited about the test as it’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now, to make sure my health is in check.

My results showed that I was low in iron, magnesium, and vitamin B2. I found it so interesting that this could be contributing to my immune health and overall energy.

I’ve started taking MegaFood® vitamins and supplements to help optimize my health. Some of the ones I’ve been using are:

  • Blood Builder® to increase my iron intake
  • Daily Maca Plus for Womenâ„¢ to maintain hormonal balance
  • Daily Turmeric Nutrient Booster Powderâ„¢ for energy and my immune system
  • Multi for Women a multivitamin for overall health and well-being

Today there are so many different brands and options for vitamins and supplements that it’s difficult to know which ones to choose. Which brands are really eco-friendly? Which ones are really organic? Which ones are non-GMO?

There is so much noise out there with an abundance of choices that it can become a little daunting to select a brand that’s right for you.

I know I’ve used certain supplements before only to find out that they are not what they seem.

One reason I’ve opted to megafood products is they are the first supplement brand to have its entire line glyphosate free! Now, since you’re probably wondering “what on earth is glyphosate?” let’s dive right into that.

What is Glyphosate?

Glyphosate is the number one herbicide used in the United States which is heavily sprayed on crops. Its been shown to have potential health risks for people…so it’s definitely not something I want to be consuming in my vitamins and supplements!

Organic farming bans the use of these glyphosate as well as other harmful hormones.

Megafood is very transparent when it comes to their practices. Which is really nice to see in a brand. They even have live cams running in their facilities so you can see what’s actually going on behind the scenes of the products. (They refer to this transparency as “The Big T”)

It’s really refreshing to see a brand that is truly committed to providing quality, safety, and purity to its customers while providing high-quality whole food supplements. You can even read about their organic farmers on their website!

Thinking back on some older supplements I used to take, I question whether or not the products were glyphosate free, and if they could be potentially causing more harm to my health than good.

It’s great to know now that I can get my supplements from a safe source, and have the option of choosing glyphosate free supplements for my health.

Megafood offers an array of different products and categories that cater to different needs such as Vegan supplements, women’s health, and children’s health. (Among many others)

Choosing glyphosate free supplements

I’ve been adding the Daily Maca Plus for Women Nutrient Booster Powder™ and Daily Turmeric Nutrient Booster Powder™  to my smoothies for a week now and I already feel an increase in my energy levels, and feel calmer overall. I love that these powdered supplements have a blend of a few different ingredients.

The maca also includes chaste tree berry and ashwagandha, and the turmeric includes tart cherry and black pepper. It’s great that they have a mix all in one so I don’t have to start adding in maca and ashwagandha separately into my smoothies! (I’m all for saving time in the morning after all)
