A white bean dip recipe with pita chips
So I have to confess, I feel a bit like I’m cheating on my Best Hummus with this recipe. But I can’t help myself!
Now, white beans are such a versatile ingredient. From dip to Tuscan White Bean Soup and Maple Baked Beans, they adapt to the flavour of whatever they’re cooked with. In this case, lemon, garlic, and curry powder!
And, did I mention it’s wayyyy faster to make than hummus, and doesn’t need any tahini? Like…can we just all praise white bean dip for a second here? It’s just so good.
How to make pita chips
This Curried White Bean Dip is served with homemade pita chips on the side. Totally optional, but most definitely recommended!
To make the homemade pita chips, simply preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Cut the pita into triangles.
Then, coat them with a bit of olive oil and add any spices on top you love. I like to add some za’atar. Bake them off for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy.

What kind of white beans do you recommend for this recipe? Would garbanzo beans work? Going to make it for the Eagles game today! Thanks!!
Hi Katie! White beans would be beans such as navy beans, great northern beans, cannellini beans, white kidney beans…etc. You can use chickpeas too however it would turn out to be a hummus.
Found this while looking for alternative & different spread/hummus ideas to use in sandwiches. (my salad sandwiches, as my family calls them) 🙂 Especially love the idea of using Thai red curry paste.
Love this!
