This Apple Pie Granola is a healthy breakfast filled with oats, nuts and cinnamon spice. It then gets toasted up to perfection and filled with apple chips for a granola that tastes just like apple pie!
If there’s one ingredient that makes me think of September it’s definitely apples. While there is
Not to mention September is the time of year for apple picking! While I still haven’t gone yet this year, (still a tad early) apple picking is one of my favourite September activities to do. There’s just something so satisfying about heading out to a farm and being able to pick my own apples to make things like vegan apple crumb muffins & salted caramel apple galette
Really though, if you’re a lover of apple pie, this granola is for you! This granola is lightly sweetened and crispy. It’s made with dried apple chips that give it that tasty apple flavour. You can enjoy this granola as is or use it as a topping on yogurt parfaits or bowls.

How to make apple granola
This Apple Pie Granola is so easy to make. All you need to make this recipe is a couple of mixing bowls and a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Mix the oats, walnuts, pecans, chia seeds, cinnamon and nutmeg together in a bowl.
- Mix the maple syrup and coconut oil together and pour into the dry mixture. Mix until well combined.
- Spread the granola evenly on the baking pan annd bake for 25-35 minutes until the granola is golden brown.
- Add the apple chips and mix together.
Tips for making this recipe perfectly
- Use rolled oats. The base for this granola uses rolled oats. I 100% recommend using
large flaked oats/rolled oats rather than quick oats for making granola. This is what gives the granola that rich and chewy texture. If you want to make this granola gluten-free, just make sure to be using gluten-free certified oats! - Customize this recipe with any nuts you love. I like walnuts and pecans because they go SO well with that apple flavour, but if you like almonds or pumpkin seeds those would work well too! (You can even add in some raisins or chocolate chips at the end if you like.)
- Make sure that you add the apple chips AFTER the granola comes out of the oven. (As well as any other dried fruit you may want to add) This is super important otherwise the chips will burn.
This apple pie granola is:
- Healthy snack for adults & kids
- Vegan and gluten-free (*just make sure to use gluten-free certified oats)
- Free of refined-sugars
- Tastes just like apple pie, YUM!
This granola can be stored in a jar in your pantry for weeks at a time and goes great paired with yogurts, on top of smoothie bowls or even on

Hi Jess!! How can I turn your granola recipes into a sugar-free version? I thought about just removing the sugar, but will it be good in texture and flavor?
For me, granola is one of things that is so easy to make, but I often just buy it. The problem is the stuff you buy in stores is loaded with sugar and fake ingredients. I found this recipe just the other day and knew I had to make it! I love it in my greek yogurt in the morning, and I have even put it on top of my vanilla maple halo ice cream – HEAVEN!
Thanks Alyssa! I used to buy granola all the time but yes it’s loaded with a bunch of additives, sugar…and low-quality ingredients.Homemade is definitely the way to go! 🙂
